Harley® Tires Near Bel Air

What Tires Does Harley® Use?

The most important thing to remember when selecting a tire is something each of our Gear Geeks absorbs to the core, and we encourage our customers to take the same stance: We always will err on the side of safety. Many customers will ask, "Can I…" followed by some deviation from standard practice. Some ideas kicked off by lone amateurs have been fantastic, while others have caused injury or death. We at RevZilla respect the rights of each motorcyclist to choose what modifications to make, but because we are unable to quickly evaluate every customer's abilities and judgment through simple phone and e-mail contacts, it is RevZilla's stance to only recommend tires that are original size, speed rating, load rating, and construction as the original equipment manufacturer's.

Harley® Tire Commonly Asked Questions & Replacement Near Bel Air

When should I replace my Harley® tires?

For tires with 5 years of use, manufacturers typically call for an annual inspection by a professional. For a tire that is 10 years old, even if the tread looks great, the manufacturers claim that the tire is at the end of it's useful life and should be replaced.

Can any tire shop change a motorcycle tire?

and yes a competent auto/tire shop should have no problem changing a tubeless motorcycle tire,,,,it is a matter of the shop foreman/boss willing to ok it.

How much does it cost to change a rear tire on a Harley-Davidson®?

A competent mechanic can remove the wheel, install new tire, and reinstall wheel in an hour. So you are looking at a minimum of one hour labor plus cost of tire. A new tire shouldn't be more than $150 and labor shouldn't be over a $100, so $250 (plus tax) would be a fair price.

How long do tires last on a Harley®?

It has been around 6-8k on rear and 8-10 on front. this all depends on the weight, torque and horsepower of the bike and "how hard you ride." hard takeoffs and hard cornering causes much more wear, especially if the tires are made of softer rubber compounds.

In short, what a great experience buying a vehicle, which unfortunately seems to be a rare occurrence in this day and age.First of all, the folks I worked with (Jeremy Lane and Shawn Ryan) were willing to work with me on the bike and they understand the complex environment we live in these days with COVID. For example, they helped me by getting me the information to make my decision, at my request, so that I could minimize my time in the dealership. This, unfortunately, was something that other dealerships in the area weren't willing to do and before contacting HD Baltimore I dealt with a lot of the antiquated sales tactics of "come in and check out the bikes before we give you ballpark pricing on what you will expect to spend." However, at HD Baltimore I was very impressed by ZERO sales tricks (excessive waiting pressure, four squaring, etc.) and, in summary, I walked into the dealership knowing exactly what to expect.Secondly, when you buy a motorcycle from a dealership you are more than likely going to rely on that dealership for follow-on trips for motorcycle service, etc. That being said, the customer service you experience when buying a bike speaks volumes to the kind of treatment you will receive when you inevitably have to visit for servicing your motorcycle or repairs. That being said, and even though HD Baltimore is more than 30 miles away, I will make that trip for anything regarding my bike and will happily bypass other, closer dealerships to make that happen.Lastly, they put in the work to make sure you don't feel like you're a number and their dealership is a revolving door. Even today I received a nice handwritten card in the mail thanking me for my business, which speaks volumes to the effort they put into each customer, not just the sale.
