Harley® Tires Near Towson

What Tires Does Harley® Use?

Wide tires are not necessarily better. They usually "turn in" worse than a skinnier tire of the same make and model, and usually hurt fuel mileage. The common alteration of mounting a wider rear tire may make the bike harder to steer, even unpleasantly or unsafely so.

Harley® Tire Commonly Asked Questions & Replacement Near Towson

What is considered high mileage for a Harley®?

For sports bikes, 25,000 miles can be a lot. Harley-Davidson® motorcycles are built to last much longer. If a bike has good maintenance records, no signs of damage and no oil leaks, even a bike with 40,000 to 50,000 miles can be expected to last a long time.

How much does Harley® charge to change rear tires?

Indy or dealer will charge $20-40 labor if you carry the wheel in. Expect to pay up to $100 if you ride the bike in. Over $300 is to be expected for that year if you ride it in.

Can I change a motorcycle tire myself?

No matter if you have a flat or it's just time to change your motorcycle tire, you can easily remove your old tire, fit your new one, and ride it all in a single afternoon.

How much does it cost to change a rear tire on a Harley-Davidson®?

A competent mechanic can remove the wheel, install new tire, and reinstall wheel in an hour. So you are looking at a minimum of one hour labor plus cost of tire. A new tire shouldn't be more than $150 and labor shouldn't be over a $100, so $250 (plus tax) would be a fair price.

My father, my brother, and I have all purchased bikes from this location. They are easy going, don’t try to pressure you into anything, and try to get you the best deal for you! Rather than trying to get the most money they can out of you like other dealerships. Talk to my man Tom and he’ll get you the bike you want for the best deal he can.

In short, what a great experience buying a vehicle, which unfortunately seems to be a rare occurrence in this day and age.First of all, the folks I worked with (Jeremy Lane and Shawn Ryan) were willing to work with me on the bike and they understand the complex environment we live in these days with COVID. For example, they helped me by getting me the information to make my decision, at my request, so that I could minimize my time in the dealership. This, unfortunately, was something that other dealerships in the area weren't willing to do and before contacting HD Baltimore I dealt with a lot of the antiquated sales tactics of "come in and check out the bikes before we give you ballpark pricing on what you will expect to spend." However, at HD Baltimore I was very impressed by ZERO sales tricks (excessive waiting pressure, four squaring, etc.) and, in summary, I walked into the dealership knowing exactly what to expect.Secondly, when you buy a motorcycle from a dealership you are more than likely going to rely on that dealership for follow-on trips for motorcycle service, etc. That being said, the customer service you experience when buying a bike speaks volumes to the kind of treatment you will receive when you inevitably have to visit for servicing your motorcycle or repairs. That being said, and even though HD Baltimore is more than 30 miles away, I will make that trip for anything regarding my bike and will happily bypass other, closer dealerships to make that happen.Lastly, they put in the work to make sure you don't feel like you're a number and their dealership is a revolving door. Even today I received a nice handwritten card in the mail thanking me for my business, which speaks volumes to the effort they put into each customer, not just the sale.
