The 10th new bike in the Softail® lineup, the FXDR has styling inspired by drag racing, is designed loosely around the Breakout chassis, offers the highest lean angle of any Softail®, sports an inverted fork and an aluminum swingarm that trims a bit over 10 pounds, and is powered by the Milwaukee-Eight® 114 engine. The bike sits curbside at 668 pounds.
Strong engine. As its name implies, the only engine you can get in the Harley-Davidson® FXDR 114 is the 114 cubic inch Milwaukee-Eight® V-twin, making it the only Softail® that you can't get with the smaller 107 ci unit. This engine makes a lot of sense in a muscular, more performance-oriented bike.
The new monoshocked Softail® with new engines, styling and detailing, has mostly been big hits but the FXDR disappoints slightly. It's great looking, yes, but the £5K cheaper Fat Bob is a far better ride.
The 2019 Harley-Davidson® FXDR is a power cruiser-styled addition to its fleet of Softail®, featuring their most highly tuned 1868cc V-twin combined with a long, low, feet-forward cruiser riding position and a raked-out chassis.
